Here you can meet the mission organisations and missionaries our church helps to support in various ways.
Hope Street is an arm of Baptist Care and is committed to putting faith into action by providing compassionate care to those struggling men and women living in inner city suburbs. Glenbrook Baptist Church, under the coordination of Joe and Sue Armour, combines with about six other churches to provide breakfast each Sunday morning to these people in the Woolloomooloo area of Sydney.
The OCC group at GBC, coordinated by Margaret Usman and Glenda Davis, has a twofold aim: (1) To bless children in vulnerable conditions throughout the world by filling shoe boxes with toys, clothes, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts, and (2) To reach our local community for Jesus by working together on monthly craft days to make items, collect donations and fill the shoe boxes.
Kairos Prison Ministry International is a Christian faith-based ministry that addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth, their families and those who work with them. Glenn Holdsworth from GBC has volunteered with Kairos for 23 years, and works particularly at John Morony and Parklea Corrections Centres.
The Gideons work internationally in 200 countries worldwide. Peter Sharoff works locally across the mountains from Lapstone to Portland. He is involved in personal witnessing; placement of the Word; school presentations and church presentations.
